You're invited to my Borrow Party!

Huh...what! What exactly is a borrow party you ask? Well, since I am moving out of my place on January 26th, I will need to store all of my furniture and appliances. I am having a party on Saturday (pretty much all day) where you can come and choose any items that you may want to borrow for the enxt three or so years while I am in Russia (or preparing to go to Russia). Items include leather couches, Ikea side chairs, a desk and shelf set, coffee and end tables, refrigerator, wine refrigerator, fake plants, california king bed frame, Tempur-Pedic matteress (oooh... comfy), various kitchen appliances, lamps, etc... pretty much anything in my house that would go into storage. Here are some pics.

The more you guys take, the smaller storage unit I have to rent and the more money that will go toward ministry in Russia! Call me if you have any questions (562) 262-0905.

I Miss Russia!

Sunday, October 14, 2007

So, I need your help...

While I was in Arkhangelsk, Russia in October, God really helped me see some things about one of the churches there and in talking with the leaders, we want to engage in a top-to-bottom exploration of the church's mission and values as well as a complete assessment of their ministries and leadership. I have agreed to lead this charge as an "outsider" -- an external viewer if you will. I have sat down and done some research and have found some resources to help me prepare for this huge task. This is where you come in. I would like to ask for your partnership in purchasing these materials. You will not get a tax deduction from this gift, but something bigger... the gratitude of a church trying to figure out how to do "church" in a way that is engaging, Christ-centered and relationship-strong. Please click on the link to the right and explore the list... there is NO need to buy new copies of these books if used copies are available. Please consider partnering with me in this! I will return to Arkhangelsk in December for two weeks of interviews and presentations to the church. God Bless you!

God is Doing Some AMAZING Stuff in Russia & Ukraine

Well, I got back from my 2 1/2 week trip to Russia and Ukraine last night... boy am I tired. I have come back even more on fire for God and what he is doing in Russia and Ukraine. I attended a conference with 5 of my friends from my church in Arkhangelsk. It focused on building leaders and championing the cause of local churches. It was great to be stretched and look at things from a new perspective. It is crazy how God takes you half way around the world where nothing is familiar (except God) to deliver what seems to be a message written just for you.

Ultimately I am encouraged by the story of the Hillsong Church in Kiev, Ukraine who celebrated it's 15th anniversary this past October 4th. The church was started by a missionary who 1. was listening to God, 2. was obedient, and was willing to sacrifice everything to to gain nothing for himself. The result... a strong church of 3000+. Thousands of lives changed by the obedience of one person. I begin to think about the situation in Russia and how my decision to listen to God's call could change so many lives. This is my motivation. God used this time to re-invigorate me, to re-charge me, to re-shape me. I am ready, God for what you have planned! If you would like to hear about my trip in more detail, just let me know... I would love to share with you personally what God is doing in this region.

Cotton Phobia

Ok... so after I saw the commercial yesterday about StickyNips and spent literally three hours trying to get that commerical off of my TiVo and onto my computer, I have another pretty funny video for you to watch. I was first exposed to the Maury Povich show by Dave Trotter at Revolution when he played a clip about things that people were afraid of. So along the same lines, here is another clip of a woman who is afraid of cotton balls... yes, cotton balls. Watch for yourself.
